Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) pushed for more artificial intelligence regulation in the wake of tech leaders pressing for slowing down the technology’s development.
“This isn’t previous tech. Previous tech could not make a decision to kill us, right? When we turned on the internet, it did not have autonomy, right?”
Gallego told CNN’s Jake Tapper the situation was comparable to a dire warning: ‘Akin to Dr. Frankenstein telling us “The monster is loose”’. He used the remarks to argue for stronger oversight of advanced AI.
