A juror in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy has revealed that a lone holdout juror mimicked strangling an object with an exercise band during deliberations, as new details emerge regarding the mistrial. Nick Dargie, a 25-year-old military veteran and one of the jurors, told ABC News that the 11-1 split in favor of a not-guilty verdict by reason of insanity could not be bridged because the final holdout favored a conviction without citing evidence or witness testimony. Clancy pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges for the January 24, 2023, deaths of her three young children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home. The trial focused heavily on whether Clancy was suffering from postpartum psychosis when she killed her children and attempted suicide, leaving her paralyzed. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4 after a week of deliberations. Dargie also criticized baseless online conspiracy theories targeting Patrick Clancy, the children’s father, calling the rumors reprehensible, a sentiment echoed by attorneys for both Patrick Clancy and Lindsay Clancy. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz has not yet announced whether the state will retry the case, with the next court date scheduled for September 29.
