On Thursday, prosecutor Joe DiGenova abruptly resigned from his post overseeing the “grand conspiracy” investigation into Obama and Biden-era officials, a probe he was assigned to by Attorney General Todd Blanche. During a brief interview with CBS News, DiGenova confirmed he submitted his resignation letter to Blanche at 3 p.m. on Thursday, stating it was an honor and a privilege to serve the president and the department. He also mentioned that his wife, attorney Victoria Toensing, who was part of the federal prosecutor team based in Fort Pierce, Florida, will depart the Justice Department on Friday. DiGenova chose not to discuss the reasons behind his sudden exit, which was initially reported by ABC News. CBS News reached out to the Justice Department for comment on the breaking story, with reporting contributions from Daniel Klaidman.
