Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday that she has appointed the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James as the special prosecutor to oversee the investigation into a sexual assault allegation at Cornell University. Hochul said she had lost faith in the local district attorney’s ability to handle the case.
