At least 35 people were killed and over 30 others injured across Ukraine in a series of Russian attacks overnight and into Thursday morning, according to Ukrainian authorities. The latest violence pushes the death toll from Russian strikes over the preceding 48 hours to at least 60 nationwide. A particularly devastating strike hit a passenger bus in Kramatorsk, located in the Donetsk region, resulting in at least 30 deaths and 18 injuries, local city council officials reported. The city council condemned the attack, noting that the targeted vehicle was a civilian transport with no military presence nearby. Public transport operations in Kramatorsk have been suspended following the incident. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the escalation on Thursday, stating that Russia targeted an ordinary public transport stop with an aerial bomb despite previous brutal strikes. The widespread attacks also follow a deadly Wednesday that claimed at least 25 lives across the country, which included 22 fatalities from a residential building strike in Pryluky. Local officials confirmed that at least four children were among the victims in Pryluky. Rescue and emergency operations continue in the affected regions as authorities assess the full scale of the destruction caused by the overnight and morning bombardments.
