Joshua Kerry, 28, of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, has been charged with one count of preparation of terrorist acts, the Crown Prosecution Service and counter‑terrorism police said.
Police said the man accused of killing former Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe was charged on Friday with engaging in conduct in preparation of acts of terrorism, including an alleged plot against Nigel Farage.
The charge relates to activity alleged to have taken place between 31 May 2024 and 8 July 2026, counter‑terrorism police said.
The Crown Prosecution Service formally brought the charge after an investigation by specialist officers. No further details were provided by police in their statement.
The accused, Joshua Kerry, is 28 and from Rotherham in South Yorkshire.
