Former Prince Andrew Challenges Warrants Behind Home

Britain’s former Prince Andrew has filed a formal legal action in the High Court in London to quash the warrants that authorized searches of his residences. A judicial spokesperson confirmed the filing and noted that a court hearing is scheduled for Thursday. The Daily Telegraph previously reported that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor contends the searches conducted by Thames Valley Police may have violated the law. Mountbatten-Windsor received permission to challenge whether the police force acted lawfully regarding the searches. Those searches accompanied his arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The arrest followed allegations that he shared sensitive information with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as the United Kingdom’s trade envoy. King Charles III previously stripped his brother of his royal titles and evicted him from his residence following intense public pressure concerning his relationship with Epstein. That rare royal action came in the wake of years of controversies.
