An 18-year-old resident of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, is scheduled to appear in court on terrorism-related charges following an investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The individual was arrested in Alberta on September 24 by the RCMP federal policing northwest region’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team. Because the accused was a minor at the time of the alleged offenses, their identity remains protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The investigation began after authorities received a report concerning online activity. Investigators traced a Telegram user who allegedly shared videos depicting real-world actions linked to 764, an organization recognized as a terrorist entity in Canada. Authorities also discovered references to the user across various 764-associated chatrooms on platforms including Discord and Telegram. According to the RCMP, 764 operates as a transnational online network of violent predators that targets minors, coercing them into acts of self-harm, animal torture, and child sexual abuse and exploitation. Certain factions within this digital ecosystem also hold extreme ideological perspectives. The group was officially designated as a terrorist entity in December 2025. The suspect faces multiple criminal counts, including participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and two counts of committing an offense for a terrorist group. A bail hearing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at the Yorkton provincial court.
