In an exclusive interview with CBS News correspondent Jo Ling Kent, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei addressed the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and urged the tech industry to slow its development. Amodei highlighted the exponential curve of current progress, describing it as a warning sign that requires serious safeguards and careful pacing to manage potential risks to humanity. However, he acknowledged that the toughest dilemma facing the industry is reaching an international agreement amid the fierce development race between the United States and China. While suggesting that historic international accords could offer a conceptual model, Amodei noted that coordinating speed limits on progress remains exceptionally difficult due to strong military and strategic incentives.
